Our Academics
A high standard is maintained in the department when it comes to developing young minds.
Literacy
Among the 9 faculty members of the department, 7 have M.Phil. degree of which 4 have doctoral degree as well, 3 of the faculty members (Dr. R Sreekumar, Dr. S. Vijayakrishnan and Dr. Bibin K Jose) are recognized research guides of University of Kerala.
Writing
Apart from 4 minor research projects from UGC, we have more than 20 research papers in various national and international journals published so far. Some of our faculty members have also served as editorial board members and reviewers of various national as well as international journals like Springer, Elsevier etc. They have also served as resource persons for various national and international seminars.
Mathematics
The areas of specialization of the faculty members are Convexity Theory, Fractal Geometry, Computer Application, Algebra, Discrete Mathematics, Graph Theory and Topology
Value of Education
Values are a significant feature of education in any field, but it is only recently that values in mathematics education have been considered significant, or even recognized. This entry provides a historical perspective to the growing relevance of values in mathematics education. It also illustrates how different researchers have addressed different aspects of values depending on their theoretical and educational foci.
Achievement
Our students hold top positions in university examinations every year. So far we have 30 ranks for M.Sc. and B.Sc. in our credit and above 20 NET holders.
Extra Activities
We have organized 2 week work shop “Initiation into Mathematics” funded by the NBHM which attracted more than 40 young talented students in Mathematics of various states of India from 29th April 2012 to 11th May 2012. And organized 2 national seminars funded by NBHM and kerala state council for science technology and environment (kscste) on December 2015 and March 2016 on the topic "Topology and its recent trends"
